War of the Worlds
“They’re already here”

Directed by: Steven Spielberg
Writing credits: H.G. Wells (novel) /Josh Friedman (screenplay)
Genre: Action / Adventure / Drama / Sci-Fi / Thriller

I am usually keen on the first few minutes of a movie, cause i believe that this is the critical point from which one can judge the quality of the movie..depending on its genre ofcourse. No points for guessing the subject of this movie..apart from the name,we also know this ‘thing’ that spielberg has for aliens.;-)”War of the Worlds” starts off with a voice over..about life on earth or its persistence.I can’t agree more..! Not because i am a staunch supporter of evolution/darwin..but going by logic..nothing more seems to be as persuasive. To the point the movie is not really a Speilberg masterpiece!..but suitable for the average movie entertainment, sitback and awe at the special effects adding to the awe is when cruise tries to bring in some “acting”…! Cruise will always be cruise.Tim robbins could have been put to better use(remember “Shawshank redemption”) but then the story doesn’t give any opportunity for that.Overall its a movie you can watch over the weekend and forget about on monday.
